Fresh Harlequin paint on FB!

It is a friends car i just finished restoring for him and I sprayed a PPG Harlequin magenta to red color shifting base and then layed a PPG Boysenberry over the top just to give it a more tame look and add depth,it isnt wet-sanded in these shots so dont complain about shine,I will be doing something more elaborate than this on my 85 tII swap FB,I did a full color change for him but my car will have rediculous detail, this is my first paint job with good PPG paint and I was getting guidance from a friend through the paint process but this really gives me hope for the future, what do you guys think???

when I think "Harlequin" and "car", I picture something like this:

Believe it or not, that's factory paint.

Its a paint additive that changes like chameleon, its a base coat here so that its not "super blown looking," I will post after the wet-sanding and polishing tomorrow, and pictures of paint like this that are not in UV light are not able to show this off at all so I'll try to get it done before dark,if I cant I'll post friday.

More shots to look at,it had about 200 hours of bodywork done before the paint, all done by me,hand block all nighters, new front body parts, shaved emblems and antenna, polished windshield trim that I still have to put on but he needs a new windshield first,I'll post some before shots and I'm sure the guy who owns this will on here to,his name is phreakmac.

This is a color that can never in literally a million years be duplicated, sucks if we need any touch up after a future blemish but hey,it's original,I could help you get a VERY similar color but it would have to pm you. I am going to sand and polish in about an hour so I hope to have buffed and washed shiny daylight pictures on here by this time tomorrow.

I was having the same problem trying to decide on my car but after this one I think I'm gonna go dark,it just lets you see more of the sexy body lines and contours,WET SANDING IS A MUST,I just went over a small area from sand to polish and it is freaking awesome! I cant wait till I have shots of it out in the sun after a wash after the polishing...WHOOOO!

Here are a few shots in the sun,its mostly purple in the day unless its overcast, then it goes blue but it always has a magenta/reddish color at hard angles.

I believe so. They sold them in Canada. The total sold worldwide was only about 264 though.

I would post before pictures of the 80 mile an hour wreck it got into and the rotting doors and describe the 300 plus hours of bodywork but since only RX&obsessed likes it(by the way thanx for the compliment) I'll just forget about it and let you all go nuts over a decal or something

There was a company in San Diego that had a few of those as their company cars...
