Fram Vs. STP

Fram Vs. STP
I own both air filters. I have had the STP in the car for about 6 months and I just bought the Fram filter. The reason why I bought the STP was because it was cheap and I had no money. I put the Fram filter in and it runs just like the STP. Why a price difference they are the same build just a different color, but which do you guys prefer?

It's not going to make a big difference. I might go with STP simply because they're made by Champion Labs and I like their oil filters better than Fram's, but that's hardly a rational way of choosing an air filter. You'd need to run some real tests to figure out which flows better and which filters better. Price isn't a particularly good indicator of quality for parts like this (*cough*K&N*cough*).

I paid extra for the K&N, but not because I thought I would get any power out of it. I knew if there was any I wouldn't even notice. I paid extra then so I wouldn't keep paying later. I've had it for 4 years and in that time I would have bought probably 5 new air filters. Instead I just bought the recharger kit and cleaned it a few times. When it comes to paper air filters, just buy the one that's cheap and fits. They are all similarly constructed and do the same job. As long as you keep an eye on them and change them when needed you should never have a problem.
