OK, this may help ya decide on the initial price. Offer him $200 as if he sells the RX-7 to a junkyard, the most he will get is $100...thats LA price btw. LA as is Los Angeles, not Lower Alabama. just kidding.

Seriously, that line always work. In fact, thats how we got my bros's SA and my FB.

too bad it's left hand drive. someone just took some time planning this seat out... it bolts on in 4 places... there's a bracing going across the car just behind where the compartment sheet metal braces on... there's punched holes for some reason on the top and the sides (perhaps to eliminate design changes from japan to us... hell, these cars had the hood prop on the wrong side and the coin holders didn't hold american coins...) the seat has 2 big bollts that stick down into there perfectly. and i've already explained how the back worked. just cut the carpet and the sound deadening material appropriately and it fit right up

there's some guy in the For Sale section, Joe Breeze, i forget his s/n... he's selling is FB backseat for cheap. i saw it when he came up to get some bins from me... i wonder how the fb's mount up differently

my car i bought as a shell. straight as can be, no cancer, the clearcoat was coming off a little, and had a bad motor and tore up seats and dash... $300 in CA... and i bought a bad shell with a new motor for $800. offer the latter, and i'm sure he'd take it.

If he's making a dash by hand for another car, he sounds like the kind of guy that would have just installed the seats in the back of an American RX7. Is it American or is it Japanese?
