Ford 8.8 install pics and questions about trilink/panhard
So i have allready posted all of this in my build thread but im sure some of the people i need to ask questions about this swap wont be looking at my build thread so here goes.
heres a link to the build thread if you wana see all the pics. I only grabbed the relevent ones LINKKKK
Made double adjustable upper and lower control arms to mount in this ford 8.8 to stock locations on the chassis w/ welded in upper control arm tab and stock ford lower control arm tab.
Sits tooooo rear because of the control arm length
Sooo i had to shorten the control arm length by alot upper and lower to get the correct pinion angle as well as sitting in the middle of the wheel well.
Problem is that the top is so short it can break over esseintally and spin forward (when sliding it left to right while its just hanging so it wont happen while driving)
but im worried about the arc that the upper control arm is going to ride on is too agressive. So i made upper control arm mounts on the other side of the frame to see if i could make them inboard more as well as be able to mount the shock tab rear more on the axle. Pretty much didnt change a thing.. Maybe 2-3 threads more on the adjustable longer.,
New mounts ii made
Welded them to the frame on the other side of the stock location (sorry dont have a pic right now)
Remeasured and got the tab locations
Anddd mounted in
This is jacked up 100% as far as it will go since i dont have any shocks in i was just checking for gravel and to see if anything would bind/was weird.
Mainly what i am wondering nopw is does anyone have a super detailed instructions of where to mount panhard bars or lengths. Im sure i can figure it out but sometimes it is easier to ask. Also should i go tri-link and ditch the upper control arms that are really short. Im planning on road racing/street driving this car. No drag and more than likely no drifting. Not going to be in any special class so any modification is fine i have a good welder so im not scared to modify just dont really know where to go from here.
