Float Bowl solenoid?

So I just got done swapping my s3 Nikki for a rebuilt s2 Nikki and started it up. Other than an idle about 700 higher than it needs to be, it seems to be running fine. Thing is though, my float bowl solenoid won't work. The s2 carb doesn't have threads where the solenoid goes. In fact, neither does my junked s2 carb, just the s3, so what gives? Ive read that without It hooked up my secondaries will flood over, but from what I can tell it's running fine. Does the s2 not require the solenoid?
