Fixed the carb....now I just need to:
1. replace the exhaust system...as the old one has a couple holes in the muffler and has oil all over it
2. get the oil pressure and temp gauges to work
3. get her to idle smoothly
4. get her inspected
So im figuring im just gonna go down to the ol exhaust shop and have them fab me up something that will work for now till i can afford something better, and I dunno how im gonna get the rest of it fixed. I checked the wires under the beehive like someone suggested and yes...theres wires, and yes their connected somewhere. I dunno if my omp is working....couldnt tell when i pulled the lines....seems to be oil there though. So I figure ima just do the MMO thing when I fill up. Hopefully by running her some....the idle will smooth itself out. I have a feeling it had been longer than 6 months since the car had run. Oh and the problem with the carb was the fact that the idiot kid who rebuilt it....didnt tighten the middle nut on the hard fuel lines. DUH! Then I also found out that in texas....to go without a emissions testing...the vehicle has to be over 25 years old
sooo much for removing the rats nest for the next couple years. If anyone has any ideas for my problems PLEASE let me know....or if your in elpaso....pm me if you wanna help.
Oh and took her for a ride today....and damm does she pull.
