First post and pics of my rotor :D

hey all,

I have just found rx7club.com after hearing it referred to as "the mother forum" on ausrotary.com. I'm 17 from Perth, Western Australia and own a 1978 Series 1 RX7. Pics are below and I look forward to talking to you all.

1978 Series 1 RX7 (white)
RX-4 13B, rebuilt, big extend port
- Electronic Ignition
- Electronic Thermo Fan
- 2" Mandrel Bent Custom Extractors
- 2.5" Mandrel Bent Custom Exhaust with 1 muffler, has a droopy tip painted black in fireproof paint to stop my bumper catching on fire.
- Lightened Flywheel
- 5 Speed Manual (from S2)
- Brass Button Clutch
- Aftermarket Steering wheel/gearknob

I picked it up for $1750US 6 months ago and am very happy with it. It's alot of fun to drive but it has ugly 13x185 wheels with deadly tread and the original suspension. I am getting some 15" mags with new 15/50/205's next weekend then I'm saving for new suspension bushes and some new shocks/springs.

Only problem is it's really noisy.

I am not very happy with the performance of the fireproof paint. I took this the other day about a month and a half after I got the exhaust done. All the work is done at the only rotor shop in town, Rotomotion.

first of all, welcome to the board!

2 things ... first, barring some weird occurrence, you should be in no danger of having your bumper ignite/combust or otherwise burst into flames with your setup ... so you can rest easy on that issue. i have never seen heat-proof/fire-proof paint that can take much exposure to a rotary's exhaust heat ... come to think of it, haven't seen it stand up to reciprocating engine heat, either ... but, i digress ...

second, header/extractor going into just ONE muffler yields a loud car ... period ... rotaries, even worse! if you find the noise REALLY off-putting, then my advice would be to put another muffler/presilencer inline (after the header) ... just make sure it's stainless steel packed.

nice picture and i hope to see you and your car around.
