Talking first drive!!

thanks everyone who has helped me.
i got to drive my project for the first time today.
what great power.

only thing erking me is high idle.
i have RB header holley(large streetport setup-new)
holley blue fuel pump(set @ 5.5psi)

idle control screw is loose(all the way out)
if i push the throttle lever(on the carb) all the way in, it will idle around 800
as soon as i push the pedal, it will settle around 2k

any ideas?

if i retard timing, idle lowers(obviously) but i lose power and
get a stumble from start.

usually high idle is to compensate a vacuum leak. but i'm not sure how your engine would work with the "large streetport"

Stock Nikki carb takes 2.5-3.5 psi of fuel. Start at the lower end of the range.
