it works pretty good, no idea if its going to gain anything, i drove with no filter for a day, just the sensor and it felt alittle quicker and this is just like that. it backfires alot less now a has a little better tone.
the front of the filter does have filter material so its still getting air.

well the idea what when im driving the airdam will have air rushing in to the engine bay, and this way it is directing it into the air filter. i didnt necessarily expect it to "suck" the air in.

As much as I may laugh every time someone does this i was guilty of similar attempts in my early days. I tried the cone thing, and on my 12a car I ran a duct from the air horn to the front of the rad as well. At least I never tried to turn the air pump into a turbo.....

back on topic. That really wont give you any gain over not having it. the inlet in the front of the filter is only about 1/8 of the total filter material. air will take the path of least resistance, and would only pull about 1/8 or less of total air. what would work if you want to fab up somthing that would work, and look sweet IMO is a box that shields the whole inlet/filter, and do one of those headlight scoops, along with the hole you already cut you would have nothing but cold air right there. aluminum would look and work the best IMO.

Did someone really try to do this? I want to see this. Not to try and do but just for the laugh.
