Finally time to get started on FB restoration
Hi all. I have just acquired a second FB and am ready to get started on restoring one of the cars. I don't have an exact plan for the car as of yet. At the end of the day, I want to do a port and some other misc mods, but keep the appearance stock.
Figured I'd say hello to the community as I expect to spend alot more time on the boards in the coming months.
cheers,
sq

The newest car is a 12a. I'm told it has a bad seal. Hasn't turned over in 12 years. My current car is a 13b. I was considering a port on the 13b and using the 12a as a parts car, but the 12a is in such good shape I may have to change plans.

Congrats on your new purchase and I wish you luck with the restoration. Also if I were you, I wouldn't take for granted that the 12A has a blown seal. There are a few other things that can fail and make the car run on one rotor only, and are a hell of a lot easier & cheaper to fix than a seal.

If its been sitting for so long one of the seals might just be stuck not bad, and also the amount of carbon build up could be substantial and would cause the engine to not run right.

welcome to the forum. i have restored a few 7's over the years and have threads on them if you are interested. restoring a 7 is an awesome task but does require time, patience, and some bucks so be prepared to love your car. oem parts are the best you can get for the 7. can't wait to see more pics of the car! if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask!
