Fender Flares

Here's the low down and simple of the situation.

I've got a set of 13x8 american racing rims with a rediculous offset, that stick out the side of my little FB about 3 inches.

Does any one know of a company or person that has flares this wide (that look similar to those of the 240z G nose style, little rivit dimples along the edge type thing.)

thanks
let me know, I'd rather not have to attempt to make copies of my friends set then try to widen them an extra 1.5 inches.

I'll toss up some photos when I find a camera I'm able to pull photos off of.

I couldn't find any definative information about ppl mounting 432 (zg) flares on a 1st gen. So what did I do? I went to classic datsun (local) and bought a set. I just pic them up today.

First let me say that they are BEAUTIFUL Quality.

So here are some pictures of them test fitted. The Fronts are Damn close and the rears need alittle persuassion to fit.

Here you go. I will update my progress on a independant thread.

These are the rims that are going on the car. There is a 2 inch lip in the rear and the fronts should be flush with the Flares and Alesmith gets a free Plug on the internet.

TOO Many Projects.....

They look really awsome, but I don't think they're wide enough for my application, could you take a measurement from the metal fender to the edge of the flare for me ?

I need something that's a little over 3" wide to cover my wheels. Or else I'm going to get pulled over (stupid laws)

Tas- How Flexible Are Those Flares??? Will They Pull In On The Bottoms And Look Right, Or Would They Have To Be Altered??? And In Your Opinion Do You Think The Amount Of Work You Would Have To Put In, Would Be Worth Going This Route???

I will throw them back on the car tomorrow and measure distances. You know you can just run a narrower tire... or is your state that ****.

Flexible? super flexible. It seems as if Classic datsun is using an epoxy instead of Polyester.

They do pull in. The fronts when pulled in bow a touch at the 45deg mark and 60 deg mark. Not enough to worry. Plus you can pull the fender alittle to match the shape better.

The Rears on the other hand... Need either flare alteration or fender alteration. I haven't decided on the final rout for the rear but thats all contingent on the tires I put on the 15x8 with 15 offset.

I think I will use a mixture of both metal pulling and flare alteration.

Worth the effort? If it wasn't worth the effort I would own a civic. But I like challenges. All in all I think it would be worth it. Especially seeing that NOBODY has these flares. All I see is stock or widebody first gens. I have a real deal Imsa widebody kit in storage But I don't want that look. Plus with CA traffic a fender bender would cost me 1500 to fix vs 200. I would hate to see my widebody kit just explode on the road after some *** hat hit me.

The only area of real concern is the rear section of the arch. I can either flush mount the front or the rear. I think I might flush the front and make a FG piece the blends the fender to the body kinda like a rear skirt? I don't know yet. It is too early to know.

holy ****, $200. i couldnt find them for less than $400. i need these on my SA so i can run fatter tires. im running 16x7 and 16x8 with 25 offset. the rears are RIGHT on the fender. they might even scrub. i havent driven the car much. ive also rolled the fenders a little bit. definately keeping my eye on this thread. i need to see what all is involved with the rears. would you be willing to buy a set and ship it to me in the future if i needed you to? thanks

I would rather use a $20 junkyard cabriolet flares. Thats my honest opinion since I have looked for years in my RX-3. I came across that 240z stuff also but i didnt like it since it doesnt cover the entire wheel well.
