Technically no. The cooler can probably be mounted in any position that provides air flow. There is an in/out. The fitting nearest the thermostat is the out fitting that goes to the rear iron. As far as T&P, I went 600/2500 on my first set of lines. That's overkill and the hose was too stiff to bend as needed for fitting. 300/300 will suffice but must have a braided layer.

whats the braided layer for? you mean on the outside of it? i was looking at your write up for the install, but want mine mounted on the otherside of the bar so i can fit my intercooler, which would make mine upside down from the way that you have yours. that shouldnt be a problem i wouldnt think

Braided layer is internal in the hose construction. It adds strength to the hose and helps keep it from kinking when bent. I don't follow you on why your FMOC would be upside down. That would mean the hoses exit the FMOC forward instead of rearward or they would be on the right hand side of the body. Neither is an elegant mounting solution. If you rethink the bracket between the FMOC and the clamp you should be able to mount the FMOC in the normal position.

im going to mount mine the exact way you have yours, only infront of the bar and upside down. My hose will come off of the bottom of the cooler instead of the top like you have yours. that way they two mounting tabs on the cooler are facing towards the bar instead of the otherway. If i mount mine using angle and put it infront of the bar the tabs on the cooler will be facing the wrong way. Do you know what i mean or? im trying the best i can haha. i guess what im asking is if i flip it over and have the hose coming off of the bottom will it cause any problems?

As I said before, there is an in/out to the cooler. It would be the same as installing the coolant thermostat upside down. When that happens, it doesn't open causing overheating. The FMOC thermostat is similar but it bypasses the cooler until the oil gets hot enough to open the thermostat.
