Cant I just use the beehiveas an oil filter pedastal? And the cooler still has the original lines on it, I wonder if the lines are long enough to where I could just get them cut to length and fitted with the fittings that I need.

I think the beehive connects to one of/both of the spots you need for the other cooler. I have never looked at it real close. To change the pedastal is not so hard. You just have to pull it off and put on the new one and plug one water line. I have a pedastal if you need to buy one. Mazdatrix has the adapters you would need for the front cover but I am not sure about the rear connection.

I am running a FC oil cooler on my 82'GSL, you need to shorten the long line that goes to the drivers side of the block under the current beehive. You will find a hard line there now. Racing Beat or Mazdatrix has the AN adapters to convert over to the standard AN connectors and make your own braided lines, use old garden hose to mock up the lines to the correct length and have them made. I took my long FC oil line and had a hydraulic shop cut it down and splice it with crimp connections. Works great. I mount mine using metal strapping and attached it using the FC mounts to the front sway bar under the short radiator. I plan on moving it to the middle of the air flow and tilt my radiator abit. let me know if you want pics, I'll email them to you.

Ive got an FC cooler on my 85 GS. I mounted it in the front damn. YOU aboclutely need the oil filtert pedistal and the oil cooler. I made my own custom lines with AN fittings. They were cheaper than the stock lines and look great. I can snap a pic if you would like.

Damn. See, what I was thinking was to just take the line that goes from the bottom of the beehive to the the block, as in the one towards the front of the car, which im assumoing is the return line, and run where it comes off the bottom of the the beehive to the inlet on the FC cooler, and have th retun line from there go back to the block where the beehive returns. So the oil goes through the behive and filter, and then through the FC cooler, then back into the block. I hope I explained this clearly enough.

I'm in the middle of this installation myself I was planning on cutting the line that runs to the beehive splice it over to the cooler (with hydrolic hoses) and run it right back to the line I originally cut just extending the loop could this cause a problem with the oil pressure. Thats the only question that has kept me from completing the phase of it.
