FB reference pictures.
OK, so I thought of this just now, figured I'd start it... Why? So I can have yet another thread stickied!!
Anyway, I decided before I would start ripping apart my engine bay to take pictures of every inch of it, just so I could put it back together if needs be.
Then, it hit me: I'm having a bit of a time getting my stupid gas tank back on, because those straps suck... And I have so much of my car apart that I have a box full of nuts and bolts... I should have taken pics of that before I yanked it. Hindsight is 20/20.
So, I created a photobucket account, FBReference. I am putting the pics of the engine bay in this account.
I am asking you, fellow FB owners, to photograph IN DETAIL specific sections of your cars, so that we have reference pics of a complete FB for anyone who needs them. If you are interested in helping this along, PM me, or email me at BoostedFC@hotmail.com. If you just want to send pics, send them to FBReference@hotmail.com.
Rules:
NO EXTERIOR SHOTS. We all know what an FB looks like.
BE DETAILED. For an example of what I'm looking for, look at what I put up. Try to cover as much detail as possible.
If you are submitting pics of a modification, i.e. DLIDFIS mounted on the shock tower or something, name it, label it, etc, so that no noobs will drive themselves crazy wondering what happened to that part on their stock FB.
If there is a complex part you are taking apart, step by step pics would be awesome. I will divide the account into sub-folders (engine, interior, suspension, brakes, aftermarket carbs, etc) so it will be easy to find the picture you are looking for. If you can label pieces in your pictures, even better. Don't expect me to know what you're sending me pictures of, I am NO expert by any means.
So, there you have it. This could be an excellent resource, especially when you're taking something apart and forgot how to put it back together, or if it's been so long since you took it apart (like my interior) you need the help.
What do you say, guys?
On a side note, yeah, my engine bay is rusty like a *****. Why do you think I'm ripping it all apart?

its actually a lowercase "s" on the sebey. It took me 5 minutes to figure that out.
I might actually have something to submit. Last week we took off my A/C, but I'm sure I could remount it in some areas to make it look like its still installed, for the purpose of showing everything needed to be taken off.
Its a shame I didn't document the whole thing, but it was damn easy. Just anything connected to the compressor cut, kill, destroy, dispose.

This has nothing to do with this thread, it was a pic request from $100T2. This is my sandblast cabinet that I use in the shop to prep parts for paint and powdercoat. I built it large enough to handle a rear end. Dust collector for woodworking on the left side of the cabinet handles, well, the dust of course.
I bought one of those $89 blast cabinets from the traveling tool sale. After figthing the limited size of that cabinet prepping a set of 14" rims, I took the glove panel and the siphon blaster and built the cabinet around it.

Great idea. I don't know how many times I've found myself wishing I had a pic of this or that.
I think on the next sunny day I'll go about taking a visual inventory of my engine bay, with pics

Yeah, the easy thing to do there is to open it in paint and label. If there are too many pieces in one picture, then by all means, take one larger overall picture, then a bunch of smaller pics that are more specific. For example, the pics I put up of my engine bay, I sectioned the bay about 1 foot at a time, but then I stood on the fenders and took an overall picture of the bay.

I have been meaning to do this for a while and planned to fully doc the next full car I stripped. Just have not had the time to get it done.
If you want to do a webpage for this, I will host it.

Let's see if anyone has a really clean, stock engine bay for the initial picture of the bay... Mine looks like ****, and the rat's nest is missing. Anybody got a recently cleaned 100% stock bay?
