Question FB '85 GSL, Reverse lights not working.

My '85 GSL reverse lights are not working.

The transmission was rebuilt at some point. There are two connectors on the transmission, both with 22mm or 23mm nuts.

I was searching through some threads, and found:

https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...55&postcount=2

I found two connectors, although I'm having a bit of trouble getting them out with my limited tools, and the fact someone has cut them and rewired them at some point.

The splicing has 4 loose wires, two green with yellow stripes, one yellow and one red.

-Green with yellow stripe
-Green with yellow stripe
-Red
-Yellow

They all have been cut, and then three of them become teal blue, and one is some sort of clear speaker wire.

They then clump back into a single wrapping, and then split into two wrappings. One to the connector on the drivers side, and one to a connector on top.

The confusing part is that the wires on the top connector are both teal blue, but the wires on the side connector are yellow and red. So at some point the yellow and red wires either return from their teal and clear combo, or some of the wiring was re-used.

I am unsure which connector is for what, and if the wires on them are the correct ones.

My question is:

Which connector is the connector for the reverse light sensor?

Note: Edit, both connectors are nut style, both the one on the side, and the one on the top. It's impossible to get a 22mm wrench up where the connector is as it's on the top of the transmission near the front where the bell housing connects. I suspect this transmission is not an FB transmission??? Could it be an FC, Miata or B2200 tranny? I bought it from a mini-trucker who had a well built B2200.

Small update, called RPM in Breslau. They have no idea what transmission is on the car.

It has a 22mm nut style connector on top of the transmission near the front of the gear casing where the bell housing bolts too.

Bump, problem has been resolved.

It is a regular FB tranny, but the previous owner had removed the bullet style connectors and soldered the wires directly to the sensors. However, he mis judged which wires were which and soldered both grounds to one, and both positives to the other.

Sounds like you got the problem solved. Labeled transmission pictures can be found here.
