Question Exhaust temp guage

I was thinking of purchesing an exhuast temp guage. Does anyone on this forum use one for tunning? If so what temp do you try and acheave?
also do you think that this is a worthwile invesment or just something to look at?

Piston,

I use both an EGT and an air/fuel meter. I've found the EGT to be more useful for tuning my car. However, I'm most concerned about what the car is doing at WOT in high gears.

I shoot for 1550* F. Some guys like to go higher, but I don't like to run my engine that lean.

I always thought of getting one. Where would be the best place to mount the sensor?
