What modifications need to be done to a carb(mainley Holley DP, or stock Nikki) to push boost???

Just wondering....

You definately need to convert the secondaries to mechanical and run a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator. Others say you need to specially seal the throttle shaft but I don't think that's really necessary with relatively low boost pressures. The reason being, the throttle shaft has no problem keeping atmoshperic pressure out while under vacuum so why should it have trouble keeping 14psi in.

If you are simply putting on a sealed carb hat, you need to block off the float bowl vent to the crank case PVC.
If you don't, I think you'll blow fuel into your crank!

The carb should operate just as it did when under atmospheric pressure, but jets and air bleed changes are in order. (Major changes in size!)
I don't know what these are yet. But racers have to change their jetting just for different tracks at different altitudes.

What's your application?

oh ok.... I was just wondering.... As I am wanting to put on an RB intake, and a holley 500CFM DP(this will be far in the future)..... Just I wanted to see if i could run boost through it... Without much modifcation, or i it would be easier to stick with the nikki......

Just one of those questions that pops into your head, when thinking about mods to your first gen that you cant afford

Peace...
