engine swap

Does anybody know of an engine swap kit? I'd like to swap out my rotary engine for a small block chevy v-8. Pure and simple: I'd like the power. From everything I've heard the rotary engine dies because the cooling system needs to be replaced every 40k miles, and the triangles wear down. As opposed to replacing the triangles/cooling system often, I'd just like to replace the engine.

never go into "why" you want to do it...we don't care, we think it's a stupid reason/s, we'll flame you for it. Nothing matters.

You can flame me all you want. I ultimately don't care too much about being flamed. However, I disagree in regards to your comment "you can get equal power with a rotor once you figure the weight thing in." I will never be able to get 400hp out of the 13b rotary engine like I can out of the 350 Chevy Small Block v-8.

I'm serious man...quit...don't try to justify yourself...you've already proved that youknow **** about rotaries so, please, don't stop trying to justify yourself. It only makes things worse.

Yes. Triangles. Plural. As in more than one. There's 2 Triangles in the 13B rotary engine, which is what I'm looking to replace.

(Following text and image compliments of mazda.com)

"The "Dynamic Supercharging" system was adopted in 1983 for the naturally aspirated (NA) rotary engine, type 13B. This system dynamically increased the intake air volume without turbo or mechanical supercharger, by utilizing the induction characteristics peculiar to the two-rotor rotary engine.

With the six-port induction system and the dual injector system, which had two fuel injectors in the chamber for each rotor, the 13B rotary engine came equipped with this dynamic supercharging system and achieved significant output increases regardless of the speed range. The dynamic supercharging system was further improved in 1985 through changes in the surge tank configuration."

squishedlizard dont mind them.. people dont take to kindly to v8 swaps in a rotary car.

also they laphed err one did when you said triangles... your some what correct.. they are rotors.. they are tirangle in shape.

also...the one thing you have wrong and i dont know where you got your info at but you should not have to replace the coolent system every 40k miles. there are many cars on here that have well over 150-200k miles with the same coolant system.. just like any other car. if taken care of they will last a long time.

Don't bother.

First of all, for the record, I'm not a man. I'm a woman.

Second of all, I know I don't know much about rotaries. You don't have to point that out to me. It's because I don't know much about rotaries that I bothered registering for this forum to begin with. I registered for the opportunity to learn more, from people like you that obviously know more than I do.

However, I've noticed that it's been a waste of my time bothering to sign up for this to begin with, so you don't have to waste your time reading this thread anymore because I'm gone.

They weren't making fun of you because you got the number of "triangles" a rotary has wrong... but by the fact that you referred to them as triangles. Rumor has it that the correct terminology, as mazda.com describes, would be "rotor".
The reason why you are getting such a hard time? Even i can answer that... you come on the forum and the first thing you say is some 40k mile cooling system fallacy and triangle conspiricies.
Not to mention you have contradicting reasons for replacing the motor... is it the "lack of power" or the "horrible cooling system and triangle flaw"? Either way they aren't reasons a rotary enthusiast would replace a rotary engine. But perhaps that is why you want to replace the motor-- because you aren't a rotary enthusiast. Obviously you have shown your misinformation on the rotary engine, therefore it is a given that when you want to replace one without knowing the truth about the superior rotary engine, you are going to get some feedback that may not be your liking.
This is not to say that V8's are bad engines, or pistons in general, are bad... that is not for me to say and there has been over probably 500 total posts on the highly debated topic.

We are an equal opportunity Forum. Man, Woman or animal, we flame all.

We welcome New Members trying to learn.
We don't appreciate new members "cutting and pasting" info trying to pass it on as some new and incredible knowledge. We actually prefer if you state you're a noob. Being a woman will only get you more help from the "internet romantics" here.

However, starting your very first post about what some call a "sacriligeous" V8 swap into an RX-7 does not earn brownie points either.

Most of us prefer you leave the rotary where it belongs, and swap your V8 into a 280Z or something (hybridz.com, or .org)

So if you stay, then stay.
If you're gonna go, then don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Either way, you're gonna need thicker skin, or you'll be pissed off by every other stupid comment made here - including my own.
