Question Engine Question

What is a 13b RE motor? Seen a couple threads here about them. Just wanted to know.

If I'm not wrong, it's from the single turbo cosmo.

I've just never heard of it along with the 13b REW so I'm wanting to soak up as much info as possible.

That and all the threads I've been reading about 13b swaps into 12a cars has my mind thinking.

Don't really see much on the exotic engines thats all.

13b REW isn't exotic: It's the motor in the FD (3rd Gen).

It's almost silly how many threads there are on SE into Non-SE car swaps. . . it's mostly common sense O_O

I'm currently working on swapping a 13BT 6 port into my 323 hatch. LOTS of hard fab work, but, it'll make a GREAT sleeper (the tranny is heavier than my current trans-axle, but the motors are ABOUT the same weight).

Let's think hard on this one. . . .

Times of the 91 TII that this motor came from:

0-60: 6.3
1/4 Mile: 14.9

Second Gen weighs what, 2700?
My car, with the motor, tranny, and turbo, weighs in at just about 2100. . . .

Well, the car I mentioned above is a 323 Hatchback (think FWD Corolla made by Mazda).

I imagine the FB isn't far behind though.

On the FB:
Everything useless in the Engine bay removed.
Carb stripped to bare essentials.
Interior de-tarred and stripped of passenger seat and storage bins.
A/C removed.

And before anyone asks why I don't put the motor/turbo in the FB? Two reasons:
1. I hate the idea of having a six port in my FB.
2. Part of the deal that came with the motor is that I put it into the 323.
