Question engine lugs at lower RPM

I have had a 1985 RX7 for about four years now and love it. Just before storing it last fall it didn't seem to be running the same. After it has warmed up and the choke pops in, the engine lugs at lower RPMs, like while first starting from a stop sign or while cruising through town at 35 mph, etc. It runs great when you drive it hard. I have changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, etc. basic tune up. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to get it running like it used to?

Does it hesitate or anything like that? Or just slow acceleration?

PS- Welcome to the board

It's more like slow acceleration. Once it gets upt to 4000-4500 RPM you can really feel the pick up. When starting, you have to give it a lot of gas or it will really heistate almost to the point of stalling. It hasn't always been like this. It used to really have power all the time.

Sounds like either something in the primaries is clogged or your accelerator pump is kaput. Check the AP first.

I haven't done anything to the motor lately other than a basic tuneup. The car was idleing at a lower RPM so I adjusted that; maybe not enough. What is a good idle RPM? Could a different kind of spark plug make a difference?

800 is good. Check that the AP shoots gas out the nozzles when you operate the throttle.
