Engine Advice
Ok, the 12a application i have now jsut isnt cutting it. After installing the Weber, thge car burn way too rich and kicks lots of smoke out of the tail pipe. I have tried to re-jet and tune the carb to the best of my abbility with no success. I would like to throw in a hole new motor so i wont have these problems and low power. What is the best engine to throw in here? I would like at least 200+ horse at the flywheel. I would liek to stay under 3,000.00 for the swap. Anyone know of some good places to get a high horse engine? Thanks much.
I am thinking of maby a 12at or a ported 12a. Im not sure how hard it is to swap in a 13bt, so if anyone has advice pelase let me know!

Did you pm rotormotordriver (TJ), he just put a weber in his car and last I heard it worked ok for him (though I hadn't seen many posts from him lately)
Me I'm doing a TII conversion and I'm looking for just around 200 hp. The job is big enough to be a challenge but not too hard or too costly. My cost projection is $3500 including a $400 donor car, $1500 rebuilt TII and the rest in fuel pump, exhaust, hood scoop, driveshaft, oil pan, front cover, engine mounts and boost gage.
The donor car has been great, I'm stealing everything I can off it to put in the FB.
The biggest challenge is working out the electrical system changes. I'll be posting it later this year as soon as I'm happy everything is working correctly.

Do a 13bt with the Microtech ecu and harness. The Microtech harness is extreamly easy to install. Plus you get the bonus of a tunable ecu. We had to do an emergency microtech install on a friends tii at the track. They pulled it off with the car running in 2hrs.

You could also just do an NA 13b swap. I've got a ported motor w/S5 rotors waiting on my shop bench. I figure with the ported 13b, S5 rotors, a holley carb, headers, etc.... I should be about there.

The 12at is not worth the time or money. They are usualy beat pretty good. And have no intercooler and only 2 injectors. To run any more boost you need to get an intercooler, and add 2 more injectors to the motor basicly.
