Emergency...

Motherf**ker...

Ok, so now a new problem arises just before I am about to go off to college. I look at my carb last night, and I have a leaky accelerator pump. It drips, not REAL bad, but bad enough to warrant worry about engine fire...

Has anyone replaced one of these buggers. Or is there a way to divert the leak to the other side? I have been thinking about making a small baffle out of foil/card board... or using a sock with toilet paper inside to catch all the gas. But then I have a gas filled sock sitting on top of my engine... probably not a good idea.

I was also thinking about using some sorta liquid cauking or maybe some liquid gasket and just seal the hell out of the thing (since it's hard to get off and stuff).

Tito in SA said it would take 2 hours for him to do it which is like 2x60=$120, so that's out of the question. The kit costs me $40 at CarQuest.

The biggest problem with all this is I have to leave tomorrow for school, there's no way around it...

Any help would be appreicated... this is sorta an emergency.

Thanks,
Cody

SP,

Its not at all hard to change that out. After getting the kit, find the accelerator pump diaphragm, once you have it you are gong to remove the four screws that hold it on (dont remember if the acc. pump lever must come off first,.. it may.), be careful not to lose the spring! Also make sure to clean off any gasket material left of carb or acc. pump housing. all thats left is assembly!

Hope this helps!
