Electric cooling fan recomendations?

Bone stock original 120K plainjane. bye to cooling fan clutch, soooo, go with electric? A little more hp at wheels? A GOOD electric should give me more cool when it goes gridlock right? Who did what and how did you like it? Give me company names, model #, anything specific that did or didn't. Thankx.

(drive as fast as you can and still be cool)

SAVE UR $$$ and just buy the stock fans out of taurus, fiero etc etc. Do a search. Im not sure if its on the sticky. If not, it should be added.

It cost a bit but I went with the Black Magic 150. Pick it up from Summit Racing. The fan comes with the termostat and all the wireing and hardware to install it. It works great.

I say Black Magic too. Don't go out and buy someones esles junk. Especially if its used on such an important part of your car.

I rebuilt a used fiero fan and it works great, most used elec fans will be off center and that will be uber gay. I wired mine up to a push button switch and only use it when needed. Im in Seattle so its used rarley to start with. If you must, use a thermostat but i kind of like the big red button under the dash which when pushed makes a whizzing sound out of the hood.

Ouch! I was never a fan of junkyard fans. I personally used 16" derale on my FB and RX-3. However, after reading threads about it, I gave it a shot. IT WORKS GREAT.

I have been going to junkyards every weekend for many years now but I never thought of that. I always thought they were junks but now I take it back. WELL, I DONT FEEL LIKE THAT ANYMORE. I SALUTE EVERYONE WHO DISCOVERED THE JUNK YARD FANS.

For beehive 12A cars, the 3.0 taurus fan works great, is $20, and is the exact size of the full-size radiator. It really is dead-nuts on.

I've been using an '89 Taurus SHO fan for a couple years now. $14 for the fan, $25 for the thermostatic switch. Never had a bit of trouble with any of it.

I use the blackmagic fan, and I have never seen a fan to date that flows more air than that fan. That thing FLOWS. Well worth the 200 bucks.

16 inch mr gasket fan.

Very slim and fits perfect on the rad. Takes a few minutes to install. And cost me about $120 bucks.

Works Perfect!

Will the black magic 150 mount to the short-style rad from early 1st gens? Also, is the fan strictly a puller, or can it be set up as a pusher?

i used a taurus fan it works fine with a thermo switch i also drilled a bunch of 1/2 in holes in all the dead spots of the taurus shroud to allow air to flow through when driving to prevent heat soaked areas i have no cooling probs, unfortunaly i live on an island and the junkyards charge more than others so i paid more.

I really dont know on that one. I dont know of anyone that is. Why dont you just measure the radiator, and comair them to the deminsions of the fan?

Yeah Jose... that inspires me to wanna clean my engine bay!
Anyway, with the electric fans... would I need to drill a hole in the radiator to insert the thermoswitch?
