i was told by my friend that i could get a adapter plate to solve this. in the land of pistons and v8's they do this all the time.

look at http://www.racingbeat.com

They have a manifolds for both 12a and 13b motors that will suit any squarebore carby (i.e. Holley, Edelbrock, Demon)

Do not use an adapter plate, they are horrible for flow due to abrupt transitions in both diameter and placement.

I think that you can use this carb with an adapter in the original manifold for the 12A. YOU WILL FIND SOME TROUBLE IN THE ADAPTER FLANGE...

But something that you can do is to check out if the Edelbrock carb will fit in the Racing Beat 12A Holley Manifold, I think they are the same size flange carburators.

I was going to upgrade my 12A intake system with the Holley Carb and RB manifold but my engine got ot of compressions so now I will have to rebuild it before I go with more mods...

the edlebrock carb is honestly pretty sweet if you want something easy, but it won't gain you the most power. a holley is alot more tunable depending on which model you get. but the 'brock carbs are pretty much throw on and go. they meter well for n/a cars. get the RB intake manifold. it fits right up to it as marques said.
