ECU reprogramming
hrm... For nissans you can send your ECU off to jim white tech and tell them what you've changed, like, AFM/MAFS/injectors, and then they'll reprogram your ECU to run with that setup.... Is there anybody who offers a similar setup for us? It'd be awesome to get an ECU reprogram so I could just lop in new injectors and a MAFS instead of this cruddy AFM

ECU remap for a carb'ed RX-7? The 84 - 85 SE's aren't EFI are they? Why would you need a remap? I'm confussed!

For the price and trouble - it will be expensive, suck, and be out of date.
I don't know if the GSL-SE ECU is Analog or not (I think it is). If it isn't, I guess an Apex'i S-AFC fuel control piggyback might work, but you'd still be limited by the ECU's inherrent dinosaur qualities.
If you really want total control, the best solution is another stand-alone EFI controller.
Are all good choices, that will give you complete control of your F.I. Setup.

I don't know about any of that, but I do know you should never ever ever buy an ECU from the dealer and have him install it...
So I was in Thailand for a month on vaction. I left the Mound out front of my parents house in Houston. This was last summer. When Houston flooded, if you recall. So my mom wakes up at about 2am and sees the Mound outside about to drown. Keep in mind she underestands my love for this car. So she frantically wakes up the stepdad, who frantically pounds on the neighbors door. Together they push the car up the driveway out of several feet of water, on high grounds, and wait it out. INJURY#1 - Stepdad pulls a tendon in his knee pushing the car out of the water.
So the next day after the rains are ending they check out the damage. Water got up to about the bottom of the seats, a little higher. Together my mom and my stepdad removed all of the carpeting, vaccumed everyhing, removed the seats...INJURY #2 stepdad drops seat on his toe and smashes it a bit. The car woudn't start so he changed the wires. No worky, so they took it to the dealer INJURY #3....dealer does a 'flood inspection" and charges $1000 to replace the ECU. I still don't know if that was the culprit or not, it was probably just flooded (gas, not water). But the ECU does sit there on the floor so maybe, but we got screwed.
I found all this out after I got home from the trip. She didn't have the heart to ruin my vacation, and I still don't have the heart to tell here how much a used ECU should cost.
Right on.
