ebrake cable madness
I did some searching and it's still not quite clear what I need to do. I swapped the rearend from a '83 GSL into my SA. Everything's going fine except the ebrake. I kept the GSL's ebrake cables that fasten to the rear end. The other cables went to the crusher with the rest of the car.
I got the driver's side hooked up fine. Took a small amount of pulling to get the cable off the rear to mate up with the original 2nd cable from the SA setup. Then I went to hook up the passenger side. It's about 2 inches short. Looking at the blackdragon catalog, it looks like the RH/LH intermediate cables are different both for the drum rears and the disk rears. Am I going to need to acquire a new cable? Or do I need two? Or is there someway to make this fit?
I did check to make sure the handbrake lever was down.

i just swaped over my 84 S over to the SE and the way i did it was that i did the passenger side first mainly bc of the exhust is in the way and also i took my break pads off and i pulled the lever forward that end of the cable goes into on the caliper it self.

Cables are a different length and hooking up the passenger side is easier. Looking in the BD catalogue, the passenger cable has come down in price quite a bit.
Not only does the brake lever need to be down, all of the tension adjustment needs to be taken out too. The more slack, the easier it is to hook up.

I'll try taking all the tension out and see if that helps. If nothing else, BD is only a few minutes away. I've never taken the cables off the car itself. I just left the ones on the rearend on there when I removed it from the donor. The cables on the SA have been in place the whole time.

yes, 1 is shorter than the other and I cant remember which is which. In fact, I just picked up a complete set yesterday from a junkyard for my RX-3's disc brake conversion. BUT i forget to assemble it. However, here's a key: the passenger frame is slotted so Im sure you can figure it out.
