Ebay Record Price for SA??

Wow. Thinking $4100 for my 63K 80 GS is not too bad now
This one didn't even have a sunroof, which would have been a real deal breaker for me. Monaz exhaust won't do the new owner any favors either . SA owners with minty cars might want to print this out to show their insurance companies...

It is a very nice SA esp with the low mileage but i know where a nicer one is that has more documentation granted it has more mileage but for the car WOW even the Senior Mazda execs were impressed with it. BTW it sold on ebay about 6 months back for 5k
Sorry about the shadows it was very late afternoon when i was able to get the pics. Look at that clean clean interior, factory paint, factory radio, look at the engine that is the original engine, build date 6/78 fairly early but many still earlier one of the first 10k cars. Notice the last picture that is how sweet this car is, the part number is still readable on the wiring harness.
Is it for sale again no. it is on display at a Mazda Dealership(same dealer group sold it new) now, It was a one owner car the title even had the dealers name on it. Car is displayed with the original temp tag from sale and original window sticker. When they are done with it, She will come back to my collection but for now it is the perfect bookend to their other Rx7 the very last US 3rd gen.

Here is the only flaw in the car and it would have to be an early type to have it happen, look at the speaker grill on the dash.
But look at the rest of the interior. Nearly 100% original only parts needed are 4 Bridgestones and a battery

I purchased a 84 GSL-SE (23k miles) 18 months ago for $8k. Sold it to but an FB Turbo (which was stolen 6 weeks later). I replaced it with another stock and mint SE (29k miles), this one on ebay, for $8300.
Those prices are about par for SEs... Generally the mint FBs and SAs sell for $4500 to $5500. Getting $8k for a SA is crazy money!

Usually I prefer low mileage cars (I bought my 85GSL 4 years ago with 49k for $1700) but I've had such good luck reviving my 85SE which has 160k that I'm thinking that an SE is worth renovating. Parts are cheap and available. Maybe I'll do another SE.

there was a used car lot here that sold a fb with 42k on it for 11 grand. when i talked to the guy he said he would lower it to 10 if i was serious. i kept trying to tell him it really wasnt worth it. i got my fc for 1500 with 70k on it, mint condition to. damn old cars, oh well. someone got a good car outa the deal anyways. its an old lady i think.HAH

I can't believe people are buying old rx-7's for that kind of money. They're way cheap here. I bought my 3rd one today from the original owner, 138k w/ new motor from mazda, a/c, excellent condition in and out except for dent in quarter panel. Paid $200 for it. The motor was put in at the dealer 6 yrs ago and the lady only put 3800 miles on it since. She wanted a new car and her son bought her a new one. You all have to realize this lady is 80 yrs old and she bought this thing new. It's an 80' model by the way. The other is a V-8 powered rx-7 that I paid $400 that runs and drives but body was a little rough. Then I bought an 84' for $100 that was all there except bad trans. Now the drivetrain out of the 79' v-8 mazda was put in the 84' for the nice body and I have a bunch of parts now and a rolling 79 carcass.

Cam you are right i have bought lots of first gens really cheap, in some cases it was haul it off and they run in most cases but these are the exceptions, and the blue one was a big exception I have only scratched the surface of the story on that car it is really deep,
BTW for all the blue car has..................... 75k miles and looks that good
