ebay parts
Has any body ever bought aftermarket parts on ebay? such as slotted or drilled rotors? and what about fuel pumps? they have alot of parts but brands I never heard of. As long as they are not made in china right?

yeah, it's almost all crap, but I'm definatly pleased with the drilled/slotted rotors I bought. They came with a set of Axxis Ultimate brake pads and man, tlak about an upgrade. It could be because I fried my brakes (they were nice and blue..) at a road race school, but these things will lock up my 15" wheels with BFGoodrich G-Force Sports (fairly sticky for street stuf) no problem. Just not more htan once or twice... fade is a bitch. But drilled are supposed to be better for that than OEM, so... I like them, and they were just as cheaper than OEM. stay away from the $20 dollar steering wheels. but they DO come with a hub adapter that has proved quite usefull! They were OEM stuff they sent accross to China to have drilled, then sent back... (or so they say...)

true true I'm on a budget and trying to get the 83 rx ready for spring
I'm in the process of doing the lsd rear end swap another member is doing it for me but be fore I do it I want to change all the rotors all the way around and on ebay they have stuff that looks tempting to try such as slotted/drilled rotors all the way around for less than 175.00
1983 base model
glass moonroof
power windows installed
lsd rear end swap in process
mazdatrix ss lines
RB header
still have not decided what color to paint her..more to go....

With the stuff i bought from England there was only one thing that didnt work right and that was the rotors they were made in Italy and they really sucked.
I found some really good ROTORS at Advance Auto Parts they were made by bendex wich is really good, i have a machine shop so i drilled and slotted them myself, if you bring them to a machine shop they can do it to, but make sure you tell them they have to symetrical to work right!

I've had good luck with brakes rotors, and I got some good wheel spacers. I buy alot of stuff from there but its generally little interior stuff thats in good shape. You can buy real stuff on there from big whosesale places and get a good deal, I got a bosch 044 fuel pump, Aem wideband and Truboost controller on there because it was cheaper than Jegs or summit. You just have to be careful and dont buy knockoff crap such as a "like" HKS BOV or **** like that. You can get some descent ICs from there with a large variety of sizes and styles. It can be good, you just have to be careful

well here goes nothing, it's worth a shot right?
this is what I got price for all the way around $105 plus shipping.
http://forumracing.com/images/performanceset.jpg
also picked up on ebay

again I'm getting all of this due to the fact that I am swapping my rear with lsd/ disc rear end "kill 2 birds with one stone".
I purchased the following also RB springs, Mazdatrix sslines,
still more to go.
whats next?

I would say it is best to get the name of reputable manufacturers and try to hunt those down on Ebay... if the original manufacturer can't be contacted then that part is probably junk. I bought a set of ball joints inexpensive on Ebay and was really worried about them until I received them and they were good quality and by a reputable company I could contact but I think I was just lucky that time. It really is a crap shoot and most of the time and not worth chancing. I've seen Brembo brake rotors on Ebay though... not sure the quality of those as they are about the same price as the unknown other rotors.

eBay parts some of the skinny and what I've learned so far.
Suspension parts for aftermarket replacement. Moog parts are very good, they have the best idler arm you canfind. Beck-Arnley is a direct aftermarket replacement supplier for most any part on the 7 without going oem and much cheaper.
From what I understand, Brembo does NOT sell drilled and slotted replacement brake rotrs, most of those are forged name knockoffs. Drilled and slotted rotors are not need for normal or even autocross driving. Stay away from the knockoffs that are drilled if used for heavy braking, i.e. roadracing. Good chance of cracking. If drilled ones are used, they should be cast, not drilled afterwards.
Cheap aftermarket steering wheels are just that. They may be good for aquireing the hub, but the steering wheels themselves are often cheap and flex too much, particularly on the push/pull.
Brake pad/shoes. Again, Beck-Arnley is an oem replacement. For perfoprmance pads, Hawk, EBC and AAxis will work. Be sure to pick the appropriate Hawk pad for your application as there are several to choose from, study and learn the +/-'s of each type. The last thing you want on a performance pad for street use is one that needs heated before it reaches max braking efficiency. Oem pads are fine for the rear discs, even with upgraded fronts, unless you are heavily tracking the car.
For more info/feedback on performance pads, search through the Race Car Tech section.
Shocks/struts, Tokicos, either Blues or Illuminas, depending on budget. KYBs are a slight upgrade from oem. There are a couple of other KYB levels, if you can find them. Konis for serious tracking and money, (can be rebuilt), along with coilovers.
