Curious that there are no pictures of the motor, or any refrence that they did do a boinger swap. I bet they just don't know a damn thing about the rex, and since it is imported, they thought it was a 4 banger. 6k is alot for a rex, unless it was bought new, and put in a "time capsule" with humidity control and temp control. :P

I dont think 6k is alot.......

I think my SE is worth alot more........

I was drinking with the neighbors last night and finally got some attention from the non rotary world.....

That car is really clean........One guy asked if it had a Boxer engine in it? What? He said in Europe thats what the call the rotary engine? OK have another beer.......

Are cars are worth it..........just get all the info correct and have the pictures to prove it..

$6000 US funds? I can buy a pristine example for $1000 less than that up here in Canadian dollars.
This one had better be the original owner, have ALL service records and original bill of sale, no damage history, no liens, zero flaws (ie: showroom condition, needs nothing, no fading of that burgundy upholstery), and be all original except for the 24k gold-plated center console...
Sounds like just another e-bay sucker with an elevated sense of what his (her) car is worth, evidenced by the complete absence of offers.

You can get them for much less than that.
Its common to find mint fb's for around 2500.

Agreed. Even the SE can sometimes be found in very good shape for as little as $2000 in the US and $2500 in Canada. But an SE in mint condition can usually fetch at least $500-$1500 more than a 12A-powered GSL in similar condition.
The ones that sell for upwards of $5000 (very few qualify) are the un-modified showroom-condition ones with a paper trail and no accident history.
As they become less common, say in another 5 to 10 years (?) I think we'll see the prices escalate considerably.

It's not common to find mint FB's at any price, let alone the SE. What is you definition of "common" - there wern't that many to begin with and most that are on the road today are bagged (not all, but most). If the car is truly mint (and the word mint really has no meaning anymore), you would be surprised what you can get for one. This has no relevance to the 6k car on e-bay - who knows what condition that's in.
Personally I have never seen a SE in very good shape selling as low as $2500 Can. Show me one and make me a believer

I saw not one but two very nice SE's for sale in that price range--- right after I'd already bought my GSL 12A. Talk about bad timing...

I wrote to the seller

I actually wrote to the seller and asked for some extra pics. The pics of the interior were taken from the outside with through the windows on the shut doors. He never gave me a pic of the engine compartment, and the answers to my specific questions were really vague.

Q: Is there any rust anywehere on the vehicle? This model is prone to rust [and I listed like 8 places I commonly see rust]

A: It has never seen a winter.

What the hell does that mean? I didn't know rust was confined to winter in New England.

If it were a brown interior, I would have the car inspected and make him a low-ball offer to get him back into the real world.
