Door, And Hatch Locks...
Where can I get a matched set of these? My key for my ignition on my 83 GSL works really nice, and is showing almost NO signs of wear (unlike the 85 GSL which is almost compleatly smooth), but when we bought the car, it only had one key which fits the ignition, and one door, im sure it fits the other one too, it just doesnt work right, and it doesnt even try to operate the back hatch. So im thinking I'll just buy three locks, one for each door and one for the hatch and have two seperate keys. One for the ignition, and one for the doors and hatch. Ive tinkered with the locks on this car to get them to work the same way I got the ones on the 85 GSL to work, but no luck, so im thinking its just time to replace them.

I saw those somewhere?
You know you can get the key code off the passenger door lock mechinism and the dealer will cut you a brand new key. you might try that first, as your tumblers could be OK. They are probably as worn as your key though.

in the rice section of my local 'advance autoparts', i saw a set of matched, universal barrel locks(where the key is a short notched tubey thing) for around $40 i do believe. not sure what to do about the ignition though

Use this opportunity.
Get Remote-Keyless Entry. There are plenty of kits out there.
Probably set you back less than 100 bucks, you can tie it into an Alarm system, and be REAL Happy.
I had it on my previous SE, WITH a small switch between the power window buttons. Looked great, worked with the alarm, and I never screwed up any more locks.

imo, the best solution would be to pull the locks out and take them to the local locksmith. he can rebuild them and set the tumblers to work w/ you ignition key. it doesn't cost as much as some of the other options and is better then a ghetto 3-key autozone jobber.

Autoloc Stand Alone Keyless Entry / Power Door Locks for $125
It's Real Cheap, and can be installed in an afternoon taking your sweet time. I am sure the guys who do this for a living can point you to even cheaper solutions.
IF you have an Alarm that controls Power Door Locks, it that much sweeter. Trust me, you'll want to do this regardless of whether you fix the locks or not.
