Hey i have owned 3 83 FB's GSl Limited Editon and another GSL and continue to drive FB's I have been driving an FB since 1990 prior to that i drove my friends GSL SE. And he had a 1979 that i test drove in the 80's so i have been around them & love them. My friend has had 2nd & 3rd Gens although the 3rd gen has a pretty body theres something about the FB that draws me back to it & i cant let go of it! I even get affended when i hear people talking bad about it & get very touchy and argumentive about it so i guess the lil FB has dominated my heart. As for speed well my friend came from Puerto rico and has brought a 1985 FB and worked the motor here in NYC and has been kicking 8 cyclinder *** like they were HONDA's (sorry Honda lovers).. Im gonna have them port my 13B whcih i plan on taking out of my Limited Edition & putting in the FB that i brought last year. Unfortunately the snow and salt rusted my 83 Limited edition and i had her looking just the way i wanted her too but thats life. Here is a pic of the new FB thats gonna get the 13B plus the GSL SE suspension

This is the reason my dad kept it since he bought it new in 1980 and now can't get me out of it! It is truly an addicting car and a thrill to drive and own! There is no way this car is leaving the family.

I also need note that the FD keeps a LOT of the fun of the FB. . . except for the damned power everything. If there was only a way to get rid of all these power options. . .
But the FD is not a daily driver like the FB and the Mercy, so it got left out of the conversation before

I don't think, percentage wise, as many FDs will live to 25 years old as FBs have and there will definitely be fewer with original engines. It makes FDs more attractive from an investment standpoint, but I wouldn't buy a car based on monetary return. I like to drive my cars.
On the FTD (fun to drive) scale, I'd have to say the Porsche and the FD are about at the same level if you ignore the convertible of the Boxster. Both have great grip, power, and balance and weigh about the same.

I had a Boxster when I lived in Germany and went very fast on parts of the Autobahn. Can't do that over here. I love driving my 85 GSL-SE and it goes fast as ****.
