Doing SE suspension swap, ran into problem
Hello , got the strut in not a problem, instal the ss lines we got a problem. My car is a 79 sa and the ss lines are for years 81-85.The line wil not fit diferent thread ?
Do I need to custom make this lines from the master to the ss lines? The donor car is an 84 se, its a parts car so maybe I need to switch everything ?What do you think I should do? Thanks in advance!

If you have the tools and enough slack in the lines you could cut the tubing and re flare it with the correct nut.
I have not done a swap before but copper tubing is the all the same just different sizes. other than that I'm lost.

take the entire brake system from the SE but keep the SA's brake booster. This way, you wont need to flare the hardlines with 81+ thread pitch

Dont have the tools and not enough line ,as for taking the entire brake system from the donor car does that include the line going to the rear and the brake booster is not better than the SA's? Forgot to mention that Iwanted to do the front first and the rear some other time(still have the rear end in the donor car).

The brake booster from the Se will not fit the Sa. If you are refeering to the Master cylinder that might be a different story.
Since you have the donor car I would use the hardlines from that instead of using an adapter fitting to go to the brake hoses at the wheel.

Thanks for the replies, I guess the answer is complete swap less booster like Waky suggested
Not sure if I bought the wrong hoses since I got them for the SE.I wonder if I got the ones for the SA if the would fit the SE front and rear calipers?

79-80 are a different thread pitch than 81-85. thats why all the manufacturers of SS lines offer a special kit for a 79-80 with a 81-85 rearend.
you have two options, take all the lines from the SE as well as the master cylinder and prop valve. this includes the line that goes all the way to the back of the car. that will be a bitch to remove and install without bending or breaking unless the car is on jackstands or something of the sort.
the only other option is to use all the SE lines except the one that goes all the way to the back, rent a double flaring kit from autozone, but some asian brake line from napa. cut the fittings off the napa line, cut your stock fittings off, and then reflare the line with the napa fittings on there.
the easiest bet will be to swap all the lines. also, when you swap master cylinders you wont be able to use the bracket that goes inbetween the mastercylinder and the prop valve due to the SA booster having 4 bolts to hold on the MC instead of two.
