Do Dlidfis!!!

I just did the dldlisifssifsdsflds thing on my gls se. It was hard for me it took all day and most of last night. I did not cut a single stock wire or remove any wires. The plugs are just disconnected.

It idles almost perfect now, not like before. There seams to be the same wmount of horsepower. If thers more theres only like 5 i guess. But i dont smell any unburned fuel, it does not miss ever. It starts in 2 turn overs. It cost me 100 dollars and lots of blood and sweat. It's ugly too.

I cant stress it enough. Its worth. I can wait to see if i get better fuel economy.

I want to do this so bad, but just looking at the wiring diagram confuses me.

i just studdied the diagrams and took things apart and studied them. We also just learned about electicity and colts amps voltage trops series parrallel etc. so i understand this stuff. Im 16 and in high school and i did it so....

Stick it to the old farts lol!

I've been procrastinating doing DLIDFIS on the '83 because it's not staying a 2 rotor for long, plus I don't appreciate an inbox full of ignition questions, which will probably double as soon as people find out I've finally done a 1st gen (they've all been old rotaries or custom engine installs so far). My poor inbox. Think of the inbox. Heh.

I theorised all this stuff out and put it up on various forums for people to try and attempted to explain it as clearly as I could. The info was very general and should be read as such. I guess I assumed most people had a BASIC understanding of simple electronics because we all learn about volts, amps, series, parallel etc in school. Of course some folks simply aren't wired that way, sorry about the pun, and require more help. So far I've been able to defer to those who've actually done a 1st gen, thus saving a lot of conjecture on my part (and typing time answering the same old questions).

Well I've gotta say your post was the final push I needed. I will up the jet size to correct the current lean primary condition, and then TEMPORARILY hook up DLIDFIS. It only has to last until maybe August at the latest. Then everything's coming out to make room for something really beautiful.

Congrats. I hope it works out as you hope.

If you can spare the change, I still think an MSD Box on the leading should be a REQUIREMENT for modded rotaries. It really does clean up the unburnt fuel, emissions, and much cleaner, smoother redlining.

which msd box are you referring to. Which model is the best for the 1st gen gslses. Im gonna put in some msd blaster 2 coils in a month that should help. Im using stock diamonds for leading and a ford coil for trailng. Do u need ignitors if you have the big red box?

i installed a MSD-AL that i got almost new from a buddy and it helped a TON with low end acceleration. I installed a 2nd gen coil on the leading the day before and it also helped a little. One box eliminates one ignitor, and two boxes eliminate two, but to me it is a waste of money to run two boxes... I just ordered all new spiral core spark plug wires from MSD and also am getting a blaster 2 for the trailing coil.
