wondering if any of u guys run your cars and what does it run
im thinking about doing my se with a street ported 13b,m webber 48 or 52 carbs, racing heat header and full duals all the way back, racing beat light weight flywheel. what times should this get me.
for now what times should i get with a cold air intake and with the racing beat dual header daul pipes all the way back at the track?

http://www.geocities.com/izzmus/about.html Timeslips, soundfile, video. Right-click and save-as the video and sound, I'm constantly going over-bandwidth and having my site shut down. They're worth it
Best 15.1 @ 90.5, would run 15.2 @ v. high 89's all day long. Mods - MSD/direct fire, electric fan, street ported 12A (not your typical street port - designed for range rather than all-out power), modified intake manifold (was hurting power), open headers, stock carb, upgraded fuel pump, 2400lb with driver.
If I'd have put a better carb on it, would have easily chaved 1/2 second from the times. Likewise, if I had more traction, my 60' times would have been improved greatly. (~2.1sec with engine falling on its face after 30 feet) I feel that the car could have been easily a low-14's car with better induction and a little more weight reduction (yank A/C).
New goal - High 14's in a stock-port 12A while maintaining A/C and P/S. This will be FUN....

Don't worry the smiley is in the new car as well
So what you're saying is, I need to run open headers on my new car too? Okay, all of you have convinced me, the dump pipe has to go on the new car. It just won't be the same without that lopey idle though... after I make the car pass emissions I'll have to put a big street port in it or something.
- PJ (or SOMETHING... )

I started with BoM2, since it reminds me a lot of a car I had that I called Bass-o-Matic '76 (that's bass as in fish - it was a Saturday Night Live skit) but frankly that name sucks. Needs a new name. Will come to me with time. "Silver Bullet" is all I can think of but it simply will not work because, for one thing, there was a very great car that had that name in the 60's (a engineering-prototype Hemi Belvedere that never ever lost a street race) and the name is rather pretentious - I discovered a couple days ago that the car's top speed is about 83mph. Need to work on the brakes thing...
Like I said, it'll come to me. Ya can't name a car without owning it a while - you need to know the car extremely well and then, after you have gained total knowledge, the proper name will present itself to you.
First, I need to fix the brakes and suspension. (Never did put those new struts in yet, and oh yes it does need them) Then make it pass emissions. (Have several cats in the garage, ONE of 'em should work ) After that, then we can start playing with making power. 150hp is possible with a stock port, tuned stock carb, stock shutter valve manifold, and straight pipe on the stock manifold. I have a header. 150hp is my goal. If I can't get it with the stock carb, I have, ahem, other means at my disposal. (heh heh heh) With 150hp at the flywheel, a loaded Series 3 GSL (which mine is - all options except leather) should be able to turn a 14.90 at 91 with moderate weight reduction - removed spare tire, jack, under-carpet insulation, near-empty fuel tank. (In other words, standard race trim) And a good driver. If I'm not good enough yet then it's certainly not for lack of practice
BTW - to run a 13.90 at 98would require 190hp. Possible with a street ported 12A. Imagine that... high 13's on a 12A with A/C and P/S still attached
BTW - I'm figuring that I could get weight down to 2550 with driver. That's 150lb more than WT weighed. WT still had A/C, too. The S3 rear axle weighs 50lb more than a S1 job, so that leaves me with the hope that the P/S, power windows, and enhanced stereo and interior only weigh 100lb more than the manual counterparts in the '80. We'll find out when I can get to a scale...

i have no idea what my 60 foot is (i actually just ran that using a g-tech).. that was a horrible launch too, burning out entirely through first gear, and cherping every gear after that.. hehe.. with better rubber i would not be surprised if i could get into high 13's. i just cannot wait until i go direct fire, electric fan, and new intake...
