Differential front seal leak

Hi,

I asked a similar question last week and got NO comments!!!

Is there a way to replace the front seal on the differential, where the flange connects to the drive shaft without having to remove the diff and readjust the torque on the pinion nut? I messed up and removed the pinion nut without thinking.

By the way, be aware that the Haynes manual is WRONG. There is a complete section on how to replace this seal and at the end, is just says to put the nut back on an torque it to the minimum torque. The factory manual has an elaborate procedure for re-torquing this nut that requires the differential to be removed from the car.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Buy a new crush tube and seal, then follow the FSM.
