Difference between 79-80 and 81-82 spindles

I cant find any info and I cant find my notes. Just thinkering with new ideas if an 81-82 front brakes (wheel bearings and hub/rotors) will fit a SA or vice versa

All the first generation inner bearings are the same. 79-83 have a small outer bearing. 84-85 have a larger outer bearing (The same as the second gen outer bearing).

79-85 brake caliper bracket/backing plate are interchangeable.
84-85 SE brake caliper bracket/backing plate are specific.

Same goes for the calipers, sans the 79-80 which were wedge style calipers and course pitch brake line.

I thought only the 79s were wedge calipers....? I know they are different from the 80...

Yep, the wedge calipers were only present on the '79 models. The '80 calipers are similar to the '81 and up, but still feature the coarse-threaded brake lines.
