diff in 84-85 7's

I'm thinking about buying a 1st gen and I don't know too much about the 1st gens as far as the diff in the model types for the 84 and 85's.

The one I'm looking at is an 84 gsl-se. It is white with red interior, it does not have any black mouldings on the door or the black moulding around the front bumper. Is this due to the car being wrecked and never been fixed correctly, or was it a special edition.

Any help would be appreciated..Thanks

Possibly removed when damage was repaired or just for the look, but they all came with black mouldings.

'85s are pretty much identical to '84... Mazda didn't make any real changes 'cos they were too busy hatching the FC.

Before that, every model year brought significant changes over the previous year, with possible (POSSIBLE) exception of '82, I can't think of any major changes for the '82 model year.

gsl-se

you said the front bunper is missing the black moldings??the black molding on the front bumper is part of the bumper and does not come off. It should be there or there is no bumper. Did I miss what you were saying?...And by the way, the moldings on the side typically come off due to heat, wear and tear ...it is common...does not necessiarily mean it was hit or in an accident..what are you gong to pay for this car?..miles??? a lot of people can help you in your decision to buy one...ask questions...and a lot of them...good luck....cjf.....................
