Diesel Turbo on a gas-o-line engine?
Does anyone have a good link about putting this sort of thing together. Is there a draw back to using a turbo from something to makes use of a 20:1 compression ratio, lag and so fourth? Even if it comes from a 4-cyl diesel? Or is it all based on turbo size and indifferent to fuel type?

alot of diesel turbos are VG series. atleast newer ones are and i dont know if you could get that to work. therefore lag would be rediculous. there is no need for such a turbo anyways.

Almost all turbo technology is geared towards Diesel engines.
Where do you think T04s and other "big" turbos come from? The automotive aftermarket is *tiny* compared to the Diesel engine industry. Our dollars are insignificant. R&D is for Diesels, and the automotive aftermarket just sort of picks and chooses what would work best on a gasoline engine.

this is more about an argument I'd with three friends of mine. The idea is to take a turbo from a fork lift, not sure what engine manufacture, but its a four cyl. and adpot it to a plymouth horizon. Its a waste of time and energy, if it does become something other than b.s. But I was doubtful that it would even work, due to the diesel's inherent characteristics.
One of them insisted since diesels are low rpm operating that its wouldn't be an issue as far as lag is concerned. Was just trying to find some information to the contrary.

I've always been more geared toward the supercharger as far as the forced induction goes. But its true diesels and turbos have the hots for one and another.
