Did I Put My Throwout Bearing On Right? *PICS*
Hey guys,
The purpose of this thread is pretty self explanatory. I am finishing my auto to 5 spd. swap and put the throwout bearing and fork on the 5 spd. tonight. I never had one to look at when I took it off, so I don't know if I put this back together right. I greased everything that needs grease, (I believe) so I'm just looking for a little peace of mind here. Please look at the pictures and tell me if you see anything that looks incorrect. I'd hate to get the tranny back in and have the clutch not work for some bonehead reason.
I have one question about what I did. Does the throwout bearing just slide freely back and forth on the shaft of the tranny front cover? This seems rather dangerous to me. Does it just rest on the fingers of the pressure plate when the clutch pedal isn't being pressed? Please clarify how this thing is supposed to work, and where it is supposed to be at when in use and when its not in use. Here come the pics....
Fire away guys. I'm waiting. Thanks...
Jamie

Crap. thats the wrong bearing!
just kiddin. looks good to me also. when it's on the brakets of the bearing should fit around the forks. it looks like they s=are though. so good luck with the rest.
