DCOE Innards :)

Ok I bought this used Weber 45 DCOE and installed it in the 7 the other night. I am awaiting a rebuild kit for it, but in the meantime I couldn't just let it sit there and do nothing! I have never tried to tune anything other than the stock Nikki carb in my life, so I did some research before opening her up. Ok I'm lying, I opened her up and did the research after I saw something and was like "What the hell is that, and what's it do?" I wanted to get it cleaned up and also find out what size jets, tubes, choke, etc. I had in there. This is what I've got on the Weber, bolted onto my stockport 12A with full RB exhaust:
Main Jets 180
Air Correctors 175
Emulsion Tub F11
Pump Jet 65
Choke 40mm
Idle jets 65F9
In the process of doing this I pulled out the starter valve springs (see, I did do some research) because there was some rust down in there. One of them was in about 18 pieces, but the other one is ok. Finally the questions!!! What do those springs do, where can I find replacements because they aren't in any of the rebuild kits I've seen, and would one missing cause me any problems? I've got her dialed in at 2.5psi and she runs ok, but the idle is at about 1500 and the idle screw is all the way out. The only way I can get it under that is to retard the timing, and everything I've read on here about this setup says it should be advanced. I'm attaching a pic for reference. Those springs are near the pump rod and stuff, held in place by a brass retainer. I was wondering if this spring could be causing this issue, before I start throwing more money at some different jets, choke, etc. Any help or advice is welcome and will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, DJ

P.S. Leave my hose clamp out of this!
I am loving the clear fuel hose!

Thanks very much for the reply Trochoid, but what is it I'm looking for on that page, parts suppliers? I have already been to those supplier websites on that page and sent emails requesting pricing on the part, hopefully I'll have some luck. One of them said the part was n/a with a price of $999, lol:
Part # 47600.105 - Price $ 999 - Quant 1

Notes: Starter valve spring - N/A

Picture N/A

Picture N/A

What the hell do the starter valves do, something for cold startup or something? At any rate the missing spring doesn't seem to keep it from running but I def. want to replace it.

The 2 barrel carbs have starter circuits instead of butterflys for a choke. Starter circuit simply richens the mixture through mechanical movement of the choke cable. Chances are you will need to find some with a junk carb willing to part it.

Aha! I don't even have the choke cable hooked up, it wasn't long enough so I was considering not using a choke at all or getting a longer cable. Thanks Trochoid
