Custom exhaust plan

So I have been trying to plan out my Exhaust. This is what I have come up with. I want equal length header pipes with 2" from the exhaust port before they curve.
Thoughts please stock port 12a for now with a planned sterling carb.

thanks

It is going to be a very tight fit with the twin borla mufflers in the back. I have a dual tip, and both tips are 3", barely fits in the stock muffler cut-out. I do not think your tips will come out enough. Save yourself a hundred dollars or so and just get this:

The twin tip, and cut those godforsaken upturns off.

This is the one I am talking about:

I bought my ProXS offset muffler from them, fantastic price and great product!

that whole design is way over fabbed and ugly...take the comment with a grain of salt...no need for slpitting into Y's dual mufflers 3in over the ax...WOW just wow...

Best max flow single 3in straight as possible under the ax...single apexi n1 or HKS Hi power Magna flow Flowmaster or something...run a flow master or magna flow in the middle along side the tranny in the tunnle for clearance oval style 3in off set...best flow best power increase minimal noise...

Is 3" appropriate for a stock 12a with a sterling?

All I know is usually its 2.5" N/A and 3" Turbo. Not sure if thats all you can do though, may be some back pressure issues but who knows.

As for those dual tip uptown tips, figure out a way to mount them upside down =P Dual dumpy muffler, sorta lol

If you REALLY want to squeeze all the HP out of a stockport, 1 7/8th. I went with 2.5" for plans on a BP.

I'm running 2.5" strait back under axle. It feels better than the stock axleback with a section of stocksized tubing from RB header back all slip fitted also.

You shouldn't run a flowmaster unless you want your car to sound broken.

Magnaflows burn out and sound like crap, just listen to how my car used to sound...

I want the most power I can from my exhaust. right now its the previous owners hodgepodge, with holes burned in the cats. also hangs down to low.
I could go with 2.5 all the way back. and thinking of a BORLA Pro XS center/dual muffler. I was using the pre-silencer as a kinda collector? What would happen if I just omitted the pre-silencer?

I was sorta using the photos of the Mindtrain system as the basis of the first design.

On the single in/dual out ProXS, the dual tips are REALLY far apart, so putting that at the back of the system would look kind of stupid. I have one for my new exhaust, long primaries (2") into the Y shaped Borla with stainless step ups to match the 2.5" entrances on the muffler, and 2.5" out the back through an ebay dumpy tip muffler to keep the heat off my bumper. All stainless mandrel bent, with V-band flanges.

Why not run twin 1&7/8's into join just before diff into single 2.5" over the diff into single 2.5" muffler
Two mufflers on a stock 12a is like taking Mike Tyson to beat up a 5 year old

On a stockport 2.5" is overkill. Not enough backpressure. 2.00 to 2.25 is fine. Look at the size of Racing Beat's streetport system. I ran 2.5 on my stockport turbo setup for a couple of years. I only went to 3" when I dropped the streetport in with the TO4E.

Racing Beat's streetport system is 2.25" ID after the collector, which is the same as their 2.5" OD thickwall pipe.

I would also advise you to go over the axle, rather than under it. If you go under, then you will run into clearance problems when you try to lower the car (which I assume it probably already is).

There are some members who have built up some very nice systems that they say they are very happy with. I would do a little searching to see what ideas are out there, and what others have tried in the past.

Good luck man...

Ok so 2.5 diameter tubing. I want a twin outlet same look as stock. I don't care if the tips are a larger diameter than stock as long as they look good. I like the LOOK of R.B. mufflers, but I want some thing that flows more. The prosx looked like the ticket but after measuring it would be to large?

Jeezus, do you have a picture of the prosx on your car how did you make it fit and look right.

Kentetsu, as you know I have the ReSpeed coil overs, BUT my car is stock height. the problem is Somebody added an aftermarket muffler of unknown origin (actually fits really well and looks good).
when the made the connecting pipe over the axle the front end is to low so the cats hang WAY low. If I were to lower the car any more at this point I would hit the cats (I have already hit them at current height).

I want to lower the car more the exhaust just gets in the way. I just want the best possible exhaust with in reason.
here is what I have now:

Yeah, I was just saying that with your new exhaust, you'll want to go over the axle rather than under it as someone suggested. Going under the axle will cause you clearance issues when you do try to lower it.
