Cruise control inop since ratnest removal?
Is there any easy way to hot wire this? I'm not sure how the system works but I sure miss it on long car trips. Worked fine before rat nest removal. Can't I just jumper/bypass which ever relays are not inpo due to the RN removal?
Thanks...
Thanks...

Use the front-most vacuum tube coming out of the carb spacer, it's the one you're supposed to connect the vacuum solenoid for the AC to. I put a T fitting in mine before the AC solenoid, but my cruise control never worked before the rats nest got removed, and it still doesn't, so my problem lies somewhere else.

My vacuum routing is standard post-RNR. There aren't any electrical connectors you need to worry about or any solenoids to deal with. Just hook up the Cruise unit to vacuum. I just tested mine earlier tonight.

Looks to go through the main switch and then to an actuator Sol. valve? Not sure where that is. And also runs right into K01 which is the cruise control box.
I'm guessing the box is ok because it worked before the RN removal.
I'm stumped though. Everything seems in order. "actuator SOL valve" in the diagram is located that might be the problem.

its supposed to do that
i believe the solenoid has to be there to regulate the amount of vacuum the actuator sees. if the actuator sees unlimited vac then i imagine you would accelerate into oblivion. the control box controls the SOL which lets the actuator only have enough vac to pull the carb open enough to maintain speed.

I believe this is the plan, I have to do the same thing for the A/C when we remove the rats nest, although I get away with using one of the solenoids off of a 79-80 so i can bolt it right to the engine without the rest of the rats nest, if we could figure out which type of solenoid it is for the cruise control i am sure we could find a similar type that would allow you to do the same thing.

I'm sorry. What I meant was that there aren't any additional connectors or solenoids to worry about. You still have to plug the under-hood module to power of course.
As far as solenoids are concerned, I can confirm that with a regular vacuum source the cruise works fine. Steady 35mph, steady 45mph... No uncontrollable acceleration.
All the AC solenoid does is pull the throttle opener. It's not even required if your idle is high enough.

I still think I must have some sort of electrical problem. Which leads me back to wiring.
No one knows exactly how this feature works? I'm pretty sure the vac just holds the diaphragm at what ever throttle position you have the car in. And what exactly activates it besides the switch in the cabin console?
I'm lost!

my ac worked without the rats nest... my cruse control worked without as well... man the rats nest is always the first thing to go!!! i liked the accelerate into oblivian line though!!!lol
