Question CP Racing Roll Bar comparison??

Anyone have a CP Racing Roll Bar? What you think about it compared to others like the Autopower Roll Bar?

Thanks,
Ken

In terms of Safety, the CP doesn't hold a candle to the autopower product.

A roll bar is better than no roll bar at all but I would prefer to have a diagonal cross brace in a roll bar. From main hoop behind drivers head to where the main hoop bolts to floor behind passenger seat.

Of course bolt in bars or cages don't hold a candle to a good weld-in cage. U can see mine here:

Paul, Sevensonly could have sent you their roll bar in pieces to weld in. FWI they did my cage.

Yes I talked to Tom about it but the $1100.00 price tag turned me off. But they are the best cages.

Also Kirk makes a comparable bar and/or cage kit. And they are in the SE. So depending on where I lived would make the decision for me. Oh and w/o the diagonal its not legal for any sanctioning body I know of.

Do you mean for a bolt in cage?

I didn't like the Autpower ones becaude it bolts to the floor behind the seat,
effectively killing alot of seat travel and legroom.

My seat stayed in the same spot after the Autopower cage install, lucky me for being short too.
The passenger seat suffers though, its a bit further forward, lucky again, I don't sit there

I'm 5'10" and sitting in web777's car, I seemed to have plenty of room, I'm planning on an autopower.

I'll have this same problem as I'm 6'5" tall, so i'm getting a CP one and then welding my own tubes on from there to complete into a full cage. I am Welding Certified, and yes I turst my own welds.

Nah, a bolt on rollbar with a weld in cage kit. Well I like the Kirk cage I have pretty well. But custom ones are the best. Speedraycer on this board makes very nice cages for 1st gens. He's in St. Louis. www.izzyscustomcages.com is his site I think.
