A couple of Nikki questions

I finally decided to try to figure out what I did wrong when I rebuilt the carb on my '79. It's running quite rich and runs really bad when cruising. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I got the jets in wrong, but wanted to get verification from the carb gurus here. This is how I had the jets installed:

I think the two on the right are reversed...the 160 should be toward the bottom (secondary) and the 93 should be toward the top (primary). Am I right?

Now, the tougher question. When I removed the fuel inlet tubes I managed to bend the hell out of them.

I doubt that they can be bent back into shape without breaking them, but I'll try. If that fails, what are my options? Junkyard?

Thanks,
Rich

Yes your right, and the other jets/bleeds look correct. Did you do the mods on the carb?

You can try and straighten them but they look pretty bad. Junkyard or a parts carb.

Thanks Carl -

What mods?

Are the fuel inlet tubes interchangable between years, or am I going to have to find a '79?

Thanks,
Rich

That looks like a Yaw IT7, but with the choke left on.
On the right hand side, you have the number "160", reffering to a secondary jet size, but it's in the primary position.
Is that a type-o? Cause if that's what your running in that primary, that'll do it!

No, it's not a typo...that's the way I put it back together when I rebuilt it. This is right after I figured out why my blown '85 didn't have any power...I had the ignitors connected backwards. Sheesh! Next thing you know I'll be putting pads on the rear and shoes on the front.

I've done it myself, and so have many others. Don't sweat it.
