coolant re-routing...
so...
i got my 13b(carburated) started for the the first time today!
much thanks for all the help getting this far.
so... now....
within about 5 minutes of running, the coolant temp is VERY high.
i have crafted my own front mount oil cooler(i gets to temp)
the radiator stays ice cold
the first thought is to replace the (very old) T-stat.
i will do this in the morning..
but, having deleted the heater core, AC and beehive, i was wondering if someone would have a glance at these pics of the coolant routing
the beehive is gone.
i have removed what used to be a T below the behive.
this hole was threaded.
i have plugged this hole with an appropriately threaded brass plug.
would this stop coolant flow?
if not, must be faulty T_stat, right?
thanks in advance

I say t-stat. I basically did the same thing when I replace my beehive with a FMOC. I kept the heater though and just capped one end of the "T" coming off the engine. The other goes to the firewall for the heater.
