The 2 shim washers are 0.020 thick.

that looks like the same material i use for my intake gaskets, pretty easy to work with, and about the same thickness as the OEM gaskets, for about 8 bucks at carquest you can get about 6 intake gaskets yeah i'm cheap lol

A word of warning: Even if your water pump only has 3000 miles on it, don't count it out for the source of the leak.

The leak ended up being at my water pump weep hole. All fixed. Thanks for the help guys.

Why would it be leaking from the weep hole on a new pump?

it was a reman. Probably just a shitty job reman.
