Coilover Shock Selection?

I am purchasing the T3 weld on coilover kit.

What shock can be used with a GSLSE front spindles? I am looking for performance shock selection if possible. I have read that the fox body mustang and Mr2 shocks can be used with a stock tube but since the tube will be cut down will it still pose as a issue?
I messaged T3 and they told me that they machine out the spindles to use a 2 inch shock. I would like to do this as a very last resort.

Thank you!

Just get the ACBron Motorsport coilovers and get properly matched spring rates and fully adjustable shocks out of the box.

I can do the same thing with the Stance Coilover now offered here in the States for our vehicles but it doesn't change the question asked.

Are you sure the tube is cut. If you are doing the weld on yourself, it seems there would be no need to shorten them. In which case there are a variety of options of which mr2 shocks in the front are a good one. If you do need to shorten the stock tube for some reason. Search on mhr650 in this forum. He has used bilstein's for a Golf (or someother kind of VW) with tubes that are shortened about 2". In the full length stock strut housing I have used Tokico blues and illuminas. The Illuminas were from the rear of first gen mr2 and handle stiffer springs than the illuminas for the rx7. I am now using Porsche 944 shocks in the stock front tubes. They are better for stiffer (than about 375 lb/in) springs. All this info is available in detail in a couple of fairly recent threads.

Good luck.

It should be this one 8641-1072SPORT.

I have not used Konis, just the tokico illuminas for the MR2. You need the rears from the first gen MR2, which is pre-86. Since the illuminas fit, I assume the konis will too. They are the same diameter and length as the stock FB inserts.
