No, it's not difficult. just about all the re-built kits out there are the same and you shouldn't pay more then
$12.00 dollors for a kit.. It goes back together the way it came apart so pay attention. If you can when it's apart use compressed air and blow out all of the passages. you don't have too, but a wheel cycl. hone works and fits perfect, hone out the MS before assemblying. a bench vise comes in handy right about now. you also want to 'bench prime' the MS before it goes in the car. when you push the plunger in it should be rock hard if not you didn't put it together right. if you get stumped just pm me and i'll walk you through it, cool. good luck

Quick question for Mr. Perez: I rebuilt a new master clutch cylinder on my se but I didn't install yet. The rebuild kit comes with the piston, rubber seal, spring, and also an e-clip which I can't figure out where it goes. Also, how do you remove the oil reservoir? Thanks.

This is how mine came out.
Spring, cap, clear plastic piece, piston, clip- in that order.
The clip goes inside the cylinder, to hold everything in.
Then there's a larger rubber cap, it goes on the outside, last, and will be facing the firewall.

All these threads of clutch woes are reminding me of mine and how I got two brand new master and slave clutch cylinders sitting up in my room that need to go in.

the reservoir comes straight off,, pull it off rubber is the only thing holding it in/on... the spring clip is the second to the last piece, the rubber boot is last. good pictures btw...
good eye on the fluid, check it out...... the next time your checking out peoples cars, check the colour of there brake/clutch fluid(s) even show cars, really ..
when the fluid turns to a dark crap, sometimes fast and sometimes it takes awhile,,anyway that means air has contaminated the fluid. it happens alot and somewhere in the system air is drawn in..
i have found that the stock or oem cms plunger to be better then the kits come with. i remove the new rubber gasket/seal and put that on my oem plunger.

Thanks for the info, but the E-clip that came with my kit simply doesn't fit inside the cylinder. I reused the old clip, but I thought the E-clip supplied in the kit was for the oil reservoir. Gonna try to pull this sucker off tonight. Those are awesome pics by the way. And also, for anyone else having clutch problems, I noticed that my fluid was turning rather dark. Then one morning my clutch pedal was down to the floor, and all the fluid had leaked out! I rebuilt my slave cylinder and installed it, also flushed with new brake fluid, but it turned dark after a few days. It doesn't leak though and the clutch still works fine, but I know my master cylinder is bad which is why I rebuilt it also, but haven't had the time to install it. So the moral of this story is: Always replace master and slave at the same time, besides those rebuild kits are dead cheap! But you all knew that right?
