Clutch Fluid

After driving rex for a little, I popped the hood just to check everything and noticed the clutch fluid had gone down considerably for just driving it over an hour. Where are the best places to check for fluid leaks? I want to be able to identify the leak asap when I get home, and was just wondering where I should check first.

the most common leak is from the salve cylinder. the seal on the piston shrinks and allows fluid to seep out. same for the clutch master cylinder. for that you'll see the seepage by looking at the piston on the master cylinder from inside of the vehicle. you will actually see the fluid seepage on the matting and or carpet.

I checked around the piston on the inside of the car and saw that that is where it is leaking at. Would a new master cylinder be best since mine is all rusted? or just rebuild it? or is there some way to clog the leak?

i'm a big fan of replacing the part entirely. it's a little more expensive, but it's in, out, bleed the lines, adn you're good to go. If you're really keen you can always rebuild it later for a spare.

replace the master cylinder or rebuild. up to you. you SHOULD replace both the master and the slave as well as the clutch hose. replace them all together so that a good part does not put stress on a worn part anc cause teh other to leak. that is the theory behind that thought.
