Why not? I'm under the impression that puck discs don't need to be bedded in like organic ones do. They seat by removing/smoothing the metal faces of the flywheel and pressure plate.

Is the rev limit a safety issue in case of a bad puck?

Edwin, there should be break in instructions with the clutch kit. If in doubt, call the manufactureer

i bought all the parts from mazdatrix (all racing beat parts, i've had issues with them shipping in a timely manner lately), no info other than torq specs for the flywheel to counterweight, and pressure plate to flywheel which oddly enough, i followed!

i put 120 miles on it today, and its starting to feel a lot better. less shuddering, and i'm getting used to starting at the rpm's it wants.

i'll give racing beat a call tomorrow, thanks for the replies guys.

heres a vid on myspace, i'll post pics of the whole deal soon.

RPMs arent much of an issue, the clutch only wears when your using the clutch pedal.

No clutch drops or hard shifts for a few hundred miles. No drag racing, pretty much.
You can drive it spirit'edly, just dont flog or abuse it yet.You just need to let the disc and flywheel mate up a little so they dont glaze or overheat.
Dont you just love how a light flywheel wakes up a rotary?!

All the puck clutches I have worked with(way bigger than this mind you) say not to run the vehicle hard until either a total of 24 working hours at half load, for for road going vehicles 1500 miles. These are for large diesel engines and the flywheel is almost always turned before a new clutch is installed. And the two parts (clutch and flywheel) need to get used to each other in a small break in process.
